I would take two or three of the CU games by KW in Omaha.

KW is at 1789 after the SIU game (1775 plus 14 last night). The record is 1975, so KW still needs 186 to tie with at least six games left to play. At 16 points per game he still would need 90 points. The Bears would need to play in the championship game in St. Louis and play in three more games. KW is going to have to have a couple games where he scores 30 or so to catch and pass the record. If he could average 20 he would need to get to the championship game at the Valley tournament and one more game after that.

Sunday is Kyle's chance, he has typically played well vs Bradley (3 of his 4 best scoring outputs in his career of 30, 27 and 27), and Bradley has been known to give up huge games (44 to McDermott, 39 to Ryan).

Wouldn't shock me to see Kyle go for 25+ against Bradley

Assuming MSU makes it to the championship game and gets at least one additional game in a tournament:

Two games scoring 25 each game
Seven more averaging 19.4 in those seven games would tie the record.

Agree that the chance is very slim, he needs a couple of break out games where he goes for upper 30s and that needs to start Sunday. I personally think he can care less about this record and is far more concerned about winning and going to the dance which means getting others into the scoring and game. I think he has become a team leader this year by trying to get others to score and may have hurt the team record by not going off and scoring big in some games. Do not know if he has done this on purpose, but it's has made the team a harder team to beat at the right time. I think in St Louis the Bears will be the team no one wants to play! I like our chances.

I agree that KW has gotten his points within the team offense. KW has not been looking to just score. When the opportunity comes though, like this Sunday, I hope he can have a career type game (why not 35 or more?). This could help the team in the final games. In the remaining games KW may attract even more double teams leaving others wide open. KW has been such a good player on and off the court everyone is cheering for him to get to the NCAA and to be at the top of the list in several categories. Scoring is the one that a lot of "fans" remember and discuss. I wish there were some way KW would have a shot at POY again. I understand that appears to be dreaming at this point because it is Player of the Year and not Career Player. Blake Ahearn was an awesome player who set a record in free throw shooting that may never be matched. KW has set a record as a Program Player that likely will never be matched either.

I am going to assume that KW's 11 point game has pretty much ended his chances at passing Garrison. I believe he scored his 1800th point today.

Hard to say, if we get in the CIT or CBI and make a run he could have 8-10 games left, he's at 1800 after tonight I think, so 175 away. If we get 10 more games, (3 regular season, 2 or 3 in St. Louis, 4-5 in postseason) he would have to average 17.5 to catch the record.

I do not think he has any desire to get the scoring record, zero. All he ways is win three games at the right time, only thing that matters to him in any way. DANCE He would give more for those three games than any scoring record.

Looks like going into the game Wednesday KW has 1825 points. Curtis Perry has 1835, so it appears KW should move into second place against Indiana State at home on Senior Night.
