KW is not scoring under where he should be getting easy hustle points. Shooting fadaway 25 jumpers is not going to get him very many points. He nearly never just shoots straight up jumpers, why his shooting percent is so low. Sure cannot follow up on a fad away jumper. McD scored many of his points last night within 3 foot of the basket, easy gets and hustle points. We are missing hustle points this year. Also as some have said, teams are going to pack it back in when we have only one or two shooters on the floor at one time. Really AD, Patty, and KW are the only two outside shooter we have this year.
+1000 Lots of easy point to be had on the offensive glass, and freethrow line but not going to get there shooting fade aways or standing in the corner waitng for the ball.
That's how McDermott gets so many points. He's ALWAYS around the basket. If it isn't taking a shot, it's to clean up a miss and get an easy put back
Doug also has the luxury of Echinique drawing attention in the post, as well as great shooters on the perimeter that draw attention and a PG that is a threat. That and he's just more talented than Weems.
I don't think he is more talented than Weems right now? Weems is just as versatile offensively and much better on defense. McD's game is just more consistent since a larger percentage of his shots come from 5 ft in. But he (McD) is just a sophmore and the sky's the limit for him.
