During his Google+ hangout Pres. Obama tells a woman that her husband shouldn't be unemployed from the growth he has seen in the economy. Obama said he finds it "interesting" because he is getting "the word" that someone in her husband's job field "should be able to find something right away."

Obama offered to do something if she would just send him her husband's resume.

The woman wants to know why Obama is extending visas for foreigners when there is tons of demand for American jobs by Americans.

"I don't know what your husband's speciality [is], but I can tell you that there is a huge demand around the country for engineers," Obama told the woman.

Its like Matrix.....the Pres see's the world as it isn't and most of us see it as he has made it. He had no idea what this woman was talking about.

Strong private sector job growth is something Obamster doesn't want to see. It would mean there would be less reliance on him to save us. His idea of job growth is more regulations requiring more inspectors, researchers and policy analysts.

To paraphrase Margeret Thatcher--the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money to spend.

There are fields with demand but not all engineering fields have this huge demand right now like Obama implied. I'm have an engineering degree and I'm working in another field currently because there is no construction, which means engineers aren't needed to design and build things...
I see no problem with giving visas for those that want to pick crops in Alabama, after their new immigration laws ran off the workers the locals refused to take those jobs and were staying on unemployment. If people aren't willing to take jobs that are "beneath them" then they shouldn't be getting unemployment benefits for as long as they are getting them

After the new immigration laws were implemented in Alabama, unemployment went from 9% to 8%.

Unemployment has dropped a percentage point nationwide

Alabama’s unemployment rate fell to 8.1% in December. It was 8.7% one month earlier. In September, it was 9.8%.
Most of Alabama’s illegal immigration law—widely regarded as the toughest in the country—went into effect on September 29.
It seems “jobs Americans won’t do” might be a rather more diaphanous notion than any of the phrase’s supporters realized, eh?
We’ve got to get over the idea that it’s harmless to allow, and in some cases even actively enable, illegal aliens to access our country’s job market and government benefits essentially unfettered. The above result startles me in its degree. Clearly, it does matter—a lot.
Even if you believe it is a legitimate function of government to provide for people without regard for whether the government actually belongs to those people, how is it compassion for us to cut our own throats? Is that not what we’re doing?

President Obama reveals who he really is -- and this picture isn't pretty

By rejecting the Keystone XL oil pipeline, President Obama did more than just pander to environmentalists. He shredded attempts by his handlers to cast him as a pragmatic and reasonable man who can appeal to independent voters.
Instead, he stands naked as an ideologue willing to sacrifice workers on the altar of special-interest politics.
Thousands of jobs were cast aside with no more thought than yesterday’s socks. Demolished, too, is the promised commitment to energy independence.
The $7 billion pipeline would carry Canadian oil to Gulf Coast ports. Despite three years of study by the State Department, Obama tried to put off the decision until after the election.
But Canada offered to change the route to avoid an aquifer in Nebraska, and unions demanded to know whether he would approve a permit, so Republicans put a 60-day deadline in December’s payroll-tax legislation.
Now we have undeniable proof of the president’s priorities. The man who insisted that “making sure jobs are available is the first thing I think about when I wake up every morning” was just reading empty words from a TelePrompter.
Obama didn’t even have the decency to explain himself, sending out a lame statement that hinted he wasn’t making a decision on the merits, only reacting to the deadline.
The suggestion that he might ultimately approve the project is a shameless bid to deny the obvious. He made his choice because that’s who he is.
Meanwhile, Canada, saying it is “profoundly disappointed,” is turning to Plan B. It likely will build a pipeline to its West Coast and sell the oil to China.

Pipeline may not be pretty, jobs and oil independence would be.

Go back and READ the articles!

Now that Iran is threatening to close the straits of hormuz, which would create $8 dollar a gallon gas, the Obama administration is stopping the oil pipeline and against, STILL against, hydrofracking and drilling for domestic oil. All this since Obama has taken office and gas has risen 84%. We know what he hasn't accomplished or what he has screwed up, just what has he done?

Obama doesn't like oil or coal, so he can keep the left wing environmental wacko voting base. He doesn't give a s**t about the average american citizen. His goal is to break the economy so he and his buddies can rule over us and dictate the future socialist USA.

..and it's your boy Obama who turned on the overdrive. I am not against the act, I'm just concerned that almost 100% of Obama's plans for recovery are increased government spending---even though it almost always fails. Anyone want to heap some praise on the great job the Bamster has done with the recovery? (and, no, you can't blame bush, statute of limitations).

I hate to have to bust your bubble again, but either you misinterpreted or didn't read Bill McClellan's article. First, the definition of "Oligarchy":
Oligarchy (from Greek ὀλιγαρχία (oligarkhía); from ὀλίγος (olígos), meaning "a few", and ἄρχω (archo), meaning "to rule or to command")[1][2][3] is a form of power structure in which power effectively rests with a small number of people. These people could be distinguished by royalty, wealth, family ties, education, corporate, or military control. Such states are often controlled by a few prominent families who pass their influence from one generation to the next.

Second, Bill McClellan is a "self-described progressive democrat". I know you would't intentionally use an article by a progressive democrat! When McClellan said "this resentment is not directed at the wealthy, they're the job creators! They're overtaxed"! And when he said "That's who we should go after!" "You know, the elderly poor, or struggling families with children!" "Who can argue that with a straight face?" He was using Political Sarcasm!!!

You skim over a article, spot some political catchwords that seem to fit your politcal philosophy and then run with it. This was a good article, for our side not yours! I will agree with you on one thing, it is a sobering assessment of the future.

On our family vacation this year, we decided to go deep sea fishing. On two trips on two different boats with different crews, I found them to be very vocal about the "new" regulations placed on them by the current administration (they said Obama was trying to destroy the fishing industry). If you have ever gone deep sea fishing, you know how Sea Bass while good eating are a pest when fishing for other species. Sea Bass are so abundant that you can't keep them off your line long enough to catdh "better" fish. In all the wisdom of our presbo, we now have not only posession and length limits for Sea Bass but also an "off limits" season so the endangered species can spawn safely! The other species are also under greater protection too. The Red Snapper was off limits with a reduced possession limit (from 10 down to 5) when in season. On our 2 days of fishing, the 3 of us caught approx. 75 fish of which zero could be kept. Those results were typical as 30 fishermen fishin 5 hrs had a total of 11 keepers. Before the new regulations, the crew said almost everybody took home a stringer of fish. The industry is really hurting now because the comercial fishermen can't keep enough fish to cover expenses and the tourism fishing industry can't send home happy customers making them a less desirably destination for tourists and smaller tips for the crews.
Since we go for the experience of fishing the ocean for different species more that the meat, it really doesn't affect me but, with the space coast already desperate for jobs, this piled on top makes things pretty desperate around there! Obama and Libs at their finest!
