MSU coaches have been at several Nixa games this year. May be there just for Ruder, but I have to think they are staying in touch with Norman. I believe Coach Wood still has a relationship - at least a coach-recruit type relationship with the kid. But, I have not communicated with any of the parties involved here. Just going by: A) He's the Bears coach I see at Nixa games more than any other; and, B) Wood's connections to the KC AAU scene where Norman has played. As far as MSU not having interest, unless the kid has grades, legal, or severe attitude problems, none of which I have see or heard of, they have to be interested in a kid with the natural ability and athleticism. Unless Jalen has already told them said he is not interested in MSU.
Not a knock on Norman by any means but I think that Ruder projects into a more complete player for us. He doesnt get the "highlight" plays but he can shoot, penetrate, and plays will high intensity all the time. He can really guard the basketball as well. Hope that he is a Bear in a couple of years. Wouldnt mind having Norman as well
As of 12-7-11 we are in his top 5 http://www.coast2coasthoops.com/content/jalen-norman-looking-first-offer-427/ Norman, a talented wing, is drawing interest from Boston College, St. John's, Tennessee, Butler, Stanford, Illinois, Kansas, Yale, Colorado, Penn State, and Iowa, in addition to Missouri and Missouri State. "Right now, I would say Butler, Tennessee, and Stanford are coming at me the hardest. They are staying in touch the most." These three schools are in the mix of his top five to this point, which consists of Missouri, Tennessee, Stanford, Missouri State, and Butler.
I don't mind Rudder, but Norman is on another level as a prospect. We need to be keeping these kids at home.
Until someone other than SBU offers him I'll wait and see, I'm not saying he won't blow up, I'm saying I haven't seen it yet.
Chris Basnett @ChrisBasnettNL Missouri State coach Paul Lusk in the house to watch Nixa take on Columbia Hickman at the Nixa Inv. #mopreps
Bears have been told to hold a spot for Norman per Art. There is much ground support in Nixa assisting Lusk and the Bears........Very much in the running. Norman, Thurman, Hicks would put Bears on a higher level immediately. Very ATHLETIC !!
I would love to see Norman play for the Bears. I am a little surprised he is not receiving higher reviews and ratings given his play and the success of the Nixa team. The Bears should always try to keep top talent at "home". There are a lot of good things that flow from signing a real potential star like Norman. Hope the Bears can get his name on a MSU jersey. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Jalen-Norman-117984 http://www.maxpreps.com/athletes/BP...ketball-winter-10-11/profile-jalen-norman.htm http://www.maxpreps.com/athletes/aC...ketball-winter-11-12/profile-jalen-norman.htm http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/124758/jalen-norman
