Austin Ruder 6'1 165 lbs Shooting Guard
    Nixa High- Nixa,Mo
    AAU- Mo-Kan Elite

Per Rivals.com.... Nobody was bigger for the Mo-Kan Elite 15 and under group on Sunday than tough combo guard Austin Rudder from Nixa (Mo.)High. Checking in at 6-foot-1, he's equally comfortable attacking off of the dribble or hitting jumpers from deep. He will score through contact, stays under control and looks to have lots of confidence in his ability.

Per Scout.com... Austin Ruder, SG, Spiece Mo-Kan – Rudder went for 26 in an early morning contest and caught most in attendance off-guard. One to watch for Missouri Valley schools, Ruder is a tough and skilled two-guard that reads passing lanes, knocks down jumpers and has a great basketball IQ. He looked like a cornerback on defense the way he read passes for easy interceptions.
Austin Ruder has only heard from Missouri State and participated in their elite camp last month. http://scouthoops.scout.com/2/984493.html

    Per Rivals...

Jalen Norman isn't the only sophomore at Nixa (Mo.) with division one potential. Shooting guard Austin Ruder is a 6-foot-2 shooter with a crisp stroke, toughness and deep range.

Sounds like Nixa might be pretty darn good the next few seasons. Doubt they are 2003 Kickapoo good but they might make a run at them.

    Per ESPN:

    Shooter alert
Anyone who watched VCU shoot its way to the Final Four now fully understands the value of a 3-point sniper. The top ones we saw last weekend included Myles Davis (Plainfield, N.J./Notre Dame Prep), sophomore Matthew Jones (DeSoto, Tex./DeSoto), sophomore Austin Rudder (Nixa, Kan./Nixa), Kellen Dunham (Pendelton, Ind./Heights), Josh Fortune (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan), Isaiah Zierden (Brooklynpark, Minn./BSM) and sophomore Stephen Clark (Oklahoma City, Okla./Douglas).

Those two youngsters at Nixa are good ballplayers. I saw them in the Blue and Gold, T of C, and districts. Hope they keep developing, could be two to keep an eye on locally.

I didn't know Nixa was now in Kansas.

Jalen Norman is a big time wing prospect in my eyes.

Rudder has talent and will be a DI kid if he keeps developing. Stephen Morris is a big time kid, but a streaky shooter when I watched him.

We REALLY need to stay in good with Norman. Ruder is going to be a good player too. Not sure if he's a difference maker at this level yet, as it seems he has stopped growing, but we need to stay on him too.

    Who is Stephen Morris?
  11. BEARISH Role Player

Maybe no one else will be able to find him if they are looking in Kansas.

A teammate of Dorrian's, who was in for the TOC earlier this year. He's a 4 star, BCS type kid though.

    Stephen Clark?
  14. scotte101 BEARNATION DONOR

yeah, i knew who he was...i thought he was a selfish whiny ball hog. He has a lot of maturing to do.
  15. offinthewoods BEARNATION DONOR

So they have a Clark and a Morris?
  16. Bearvision It Rox to beat the Shox!

My bad, I was talking about my brother at the same time, and that's his last name.

haha. I hate when I do that. I typically am thinking of two different words to say and then my mouth puts them together as one word...cool and good become "gool" or something.

Per Rivals.com... 2013 prospect Austin Ruder is also drawing attention from several Division One schools. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard says his biggest strengths are being a good shooter, strong defender, and playing with a high basketball IQ. He shot 52 percent from three-point range as a sophomore before missing Nixa's final five games with mononucleosis.

"It was tough having to sit out," Ruder said. "It was especially tough knowing I could be out there helping my teammates."

    Nixa Basketball

Ruder hit more than half his three-point shots as a sophomore.
Ruder lists Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas State, Stanford, Missouri State, Wichita State and Missouri among the schools showing interest. Ruder took an unofficial visit to Mizzou to see the Tigers play Kansas State this past season. http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1215793

If he can't create off the dribble then he doesn't work in our offense. Scheer is a perfect example of that. If he has Biz athleticism then I'm all for it. If not then we need somebody who does.
