I apologize if this is already posted. I can't get taptalk to update on my phone. from news leader-Missouri State football has picked up a marquee football recruit – the leading scorer in Tennessee high school football last fall. Cedric Miller Jr., a 6-foot, 205-pound running back from Memphis Southwind High School, has given an oral commitment to MSU his father and coach told The News-Leader today.“I can’t predict the future, but I see him being a pretty competitive running back early in his career with an opportunity to play,” said Southwind coach Cedric Miller Sr. Coach Miller said his son, who rushed for 1,975 yards and 33 touchdowns last season, committed to MSU on Sunday night and plans to sign when the NCAA letter of intent period begins on Feb. 1.

we have the last two tenn gatorade POY for the state. As far as I know with the exception of Kneeshaw I doubt we have ever had one from MO.

Maybe he will last more than one semester. I have heard from two different people that Robert Fields flunked out and went back home to Memphis.

TA: building champions on and off the field. Our rate of players that actually stay all 4/5 years is disturbing.

Kinda makes you wonder why he choose a FCS school over a FBS school. Will he make it to campus in the fall?

I know it seems strange, but I can't remember the last recruiting class we signed without a player that had offers from FBS schools. There are many factors that play into a player's decision, but I'd imagine the reason some pick us over FBS schools is the chance for more (and earlier) playing time.

Yeah, but it would be one thing if they were choosing a winning FCS team over a FBS team. Just seems odd that a Rivals 3-star recruit would choose to go the FCS route.

I like the Memphis pipeline that we got going. Now if we could just secure the Missouri border and keep UNI out it would be nice. Got to do what Pinkel and MU did, got Nebraska out of the state and they started to win and Nebraska went downhill.
