Looks like it is just some open gym stuff. I really like his game and we really need his ability to create and score.

Here is a paragraph giving props to MSU future combo guard:

Marcus Marshall (Johnson): Missouri State's getting a good one in M&M, Marcus Marshall. The 6'2" senior from St. Paul can adeptly play both backcourt positions, but loves to fill up the cup. Marshall has a yo-yo handle, mean crossover and step-back move. Marshall averaged 16.4 points last season while shooting a healthy 49.7 percent from the field, 39.8 percent from 3-point range and 89.4 percent from the charity stripe. He's led Johnson to back-to-back state titles, including a spotless 32-0 mark during his sophomore campaign.

Per Rivals.com... Johnson controlled the game early grabbing a 50-42 lead at the half and a twelve point lead in the second half before the Cougars clawed back into the game.

"At about the six minute mark of the second half we had a 15-2 run to cut a 12 point deficit to a three point lead," said Lakeville South Coach John Sheehan. "From there it became a back and forth game."

Not only did the teams play one overtime but after two Ty Powell two free throws, the game was sent to a second overtime where South came away the victors.

"We pushed the tempo and hit free throws down the stretch in the second overtime," said Sheehan. "Jordan Flynn went four of four from the line in the second overtime to seal the win. He also had five three-pointers and 19 total points."

Nick Sanborn led South with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Johnson pitched in 13, Powell had 11, and Matt Heller scored a dozen.

Missouri State signed Marcus Marshall scored a game high 33 points for Johnson while Wayland Johnson II scored 23 for the Govs.

    Mr./Ms. Basketball 2012

With the state tournament rapidly approaching, it seems odd that we don't have the Ms. or Mr. Basketball semi-finalists, much less finalists, yet. Just to feed the old hot stove, here are my picks. We're talking seniors only here.

    Mr. Basketball

    My Finalists

2 easy picks in alpha order, meaning that 1 of the 2 should be the winner:

    Siyani Chambers, Hopkins, PG
    Joey King, Eastview, PF

There are more than 3 other fairly obvious finalists, but if I stick to 5 finalists, some won't make it, so I'll take:

    Michael Busack, Redwood Valley, everywhere
Marcus Marshall, St. Paul Johnson, PG
    Jonny Woodard, Duluth East, SG

I think of all our recruits he may be my favorite. I think he is going to be a HUGE get for us. I can't wait to see him out at the courts!

Did he mainly play the shooting guard position or some point? Meaning will he work with Downing or share the same position?

Marshall is a better ball handler and is quite a bit quicker.

Ag, do you think he can run the point?

Hey Bear Fans first post but a long time reader, season ticket holder for over twenty years and frequent road warrior to watch the Bears as well. IMO he can play the point and share time with Downing. He might allow AD to not expend so much energy bringing the ball up and have some better legs to shoot.
