Thought CH should have his own thread.

    Charles Hammork
    6'6" WG
    Coffeyville CC KS

After 20 games he is currently averaging 16pts 6rbs 4ast 2stls per game while shooting 50% from the floor, 46% (36-79) from three and 73% (52-71) from the freethrow line

And what makes you think that?
  3. TNMSUFAN Super Moderator

Just split the two Coffeyville guys up
  4. B4MSU 6th Man

Not the answer I was hoping for.

And put them both in maroon and white?
  6. TNMSUFAN Super Moderator

Well, I just split them up on the board...they are welcome to come to Bear Nation as a package deal :)

The previous staff actually recruited Hammork out of high school so he should be a little familiar with us

Can we call him Jackie Carmichael 2.0?

He is a guard. I think Lufile could be called that.

More about the discovery process then the player.

3 guys we were looking at played each other Wed night as Coffeyville played @ Highland. Hammork had 26pts, Lufile 12 and Upchurch 40.

TN, if you could pick one which one would it be? If you could take two which two would it be?

I watched Hammork play in AAU ball and really like him then. His game was pretty much an athlete slasher at that time so if he has developed an outside game to go with it I can see why we like him. All I know is we need someone who an make some treys.

“Coffeyville players have long arms, are very big and they are very athletic,” Grover said. “They score a lot of their points inside, close to the basket because they sweep the glass.
“Hammork is a 6-6 shooting guard that grabbed 14 rebounds against us in the first game,” Grover said. “We have to rebound better by finding him and block him out and not let him get second or third shots.”

Charles Hammork, a 6-foot-6 sophomore from New Orleans, LA, paced Coffeyville’s attack with 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

“He is a multi-dimensional player that can do a lot of things,” DeSalme said. “He was a tough matchup for us.”

Still dreaming about Hammork and Lufile playing for the Bears.

Charles Hammork led Coffeyville with 20 points. Chadrack Lufile added 18 and Jelani Poston chipped in with 10.
    COFFEYVILLE: Hammork 6-12 5-6 20, Lufile 8-13 2-4 18, Poston 5-6 0-2 10, Cuyler 4-7 1-1 9, Carr 3-9 3-3 9, Cordray 2-5 0-0 6, Cummings 2-6 0-0 6, Henshall 3-4 0-0 6, Craig 2-5 0-0 4, Alexander 0-1 0-0 0, Wilson 0-1 0-0 0, Chaney 0-1 0-0 0. TOTALS: 35-70 11-16 88.

If players like Hammork and Lufile somehow could be added for next year I think Lusk would have the talent and balance to seriously compete with Il St and CU and others for the MVC title. Lusk still would not have a "mature" or experienced team together like the two I mentioned above. Coach would have to be a candidate for coach of the year if he could guide the team to a championship. Having the talent is one necessary ingredient, but getting them in short order to play as a "team" would require outstanding coaching IMO. I sure would love for Lusk to have the opportunity to try to pull it off!!!!!

I see what you're getting at, but any valley coach that wins regular season championship would be a candidate for Coach of the Year...
